President, Guilde des musiciens et musiciennes du Québec (GMMQ)
Luc Fortin has, since 2006, been President of the Quebec Musicians’ Guild, a professional association uniting over 3,200 members whose mission is to protect and promote the economic, social, moral and professional interests of its members.
Luc Fortin is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fonds d’Investissement de la Culture et des Communications (FICC), a venture capital company which offers financial partnership to businesses in the fields of creation, production and dissemination of cultural products and services. He has also been Vice-Chairman of the Conférence Canadienne des Arts since 2010. From 2009 to 2014, Luc Fortin acted as trustee of the Musicians’ Pension Fund of Canada.
Finally, he also sits on various boards and committees such as DAMIC (Droit d’auteur – Multimédia-Internet – Copyright), the Board of Directors of the Jean-Carignan Fund, the Musicians’ Rights Organization of Canada (MROC) and Culture Montréal. With a Master’s in Music from the University of Montreal, Luc Fortin is a professional musician who has worked all his life in the cultural sector.
