Hans Ole Rian was elected President of the Norwegian Musicians Union in May 2013.
He is educated at the University of Trondheim and the University College of Telemark and has worked as Culture School teacher for several years. He plays the trombone.
Rian has several positions in The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions as well as a number of positions in Norwegian cultural organizations.
