Head of Orchestra Department, Finnish National Opera and Ballet
Kaisa Rönkkö has been Head of the Orchestra Department at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet since December 2012, in charge of HR and financial management for a department of more than 120 employees. She is also the head of the music library and therefore responsible for copyright matters. Kaisa Rönkkö is also Finland’s project manager in the EU-funded The Opera Platform project, involving 15 European opera houses.
Kaisa Rönkkö is a member of the Management Study Group. Her special interests include agile management in an expert organisation, personnel involvement in decision-making and strategy outlining, modern public administration management strategies, and generally fostering a good, transparent workplace atmosphere.
Prior to the FNOB, Kaisa Rönkkö was employed as a senior coordinator at the Public Information Division of the Defence Command of the Finnish Defence Forces and as artist manager and partner at Finland’s largest artist management agency, Fazer Artist Management Inc.
Kaisa Rönkkö is a Master of Music and Arts Management who has studied at the Sibelius Academy, at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, at the University of Turku and at the Helsinki University of applied Sciences. She also holds a piano diploma and is a qualified piano teacher.
