Loris Grossi completed his studies in Trombone performance in 1975 with highest scores and immediately started his experiences as professional musician then obtaining his tenure position at the Rome Opera Orchestra in 1979.
Since 1983 he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Chamber Ensemble (ICE) of Rome. He held a position as Professor of Trombone at the Conservatory of Music G. Rossini of Pesaro, Italy from 1984 to 1987. In 1995 he completed a Certificate in Non-profit Management at the Weatherhead School of Management at the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, USA.
Parallel to his performing career he developed his interests in the Musicians Union activities, acting as a musician representative of SLC-CGIL both at local and regional levels and as a member of the National Coordination Committee of Opera Theatres and Symphonic Institutions.
He represents Slc-CGIL within FIM as a member of its Executive Committee and of the European Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee-Live Performance in Bruxelles>
